Abstract

The rapid transformation of global industries under the paradigm of Industry 4.0—characterized by automation, artificial intelligence, big data, and cyber-physical systems—has significantly disrupted traditional models of education. Higher education institutions are increasingly challenged to redesign curricula that prepare graduates with future-ready skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, and adaptive competencies. This study examines the concept of Education 4.0 as a strategic response to Industry 4.0 requirements and investigates the extent to which university curricula align with evolving industry expectations. Using a mixed-method research design, data were collected from faculty members, students, and industry professionals through structured questionnaires and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative insights were thematically analyzed. The findings reveal a substantial gap between industry-required competencies and existing curricula, particularly in digital skills, experiential learning, and industry integration. The study highlights the need for outcome-based education, industry-academia collaboration, and technology-enabled pedagogies. The paper contributes practical recommendations for curriculum designers, policymakers, and higher education institutions seeking to operationalize Education 4.0 frameworks and enhance graduate employability.
